K. Anne Street, a Professional Engineer (P.E.), Managing Partner
and Director, Science and Technology for Government Business Solutions a
Washington, D. C based organization providing professional training, research,
publishing and consulting services to government and industry in public contracts
management, program/project management and leadership.
Ms Street has held progressively responsible positions in
industry during her career. Her last position prior to her affiliation
with Government Business Solutions was as President and Chief Operating
Officer with a publicly held company working with national energy
contracts. As President and Chief Operating Officer, she was responsible
for all facets of the business operations including, strategic planning,
corporate training plans and program and project management.
As a senior executive with a major defense contractor,
she directed strategic planning in the Energy and Environmental
Area with special emphasis on corporate growth through
competition, acquisition and the application of new technologies.
She was responsible for developing business
in Government technical support services, particularly
DOD and DOE and was responsible for internal and external
teaming arrangements. She established and grew field
offices in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Albuquerque, New Mexico,
and Aiken, South Carolina. She specialized in environmental
restoration and waste management services and hired as
change agent for corporate culture to introduce true
client-focused marketing.
Ms. Street was a member of the Department of
Energy Task Force on Source Evaluation Board Streamlining
and chair of the working group on RFP reform. She has
been a leading advocate for privatization and outsourcing
of government facilities including both infrastructure
and R&D.
She is responsible for development and instruction
of project management programs for The Federal Market
Group at the Department of Energy National Laboratories
at Oak Ridge, Los Alamos, Lawrence Livermore, Lawrence
Berkeley, Argonne, and Brookhaven. She develops and teaches
courses in those respective areas in the George Mason
University Government Contracting Series© Program.
Ms. Street received her Bachelor of Science
Degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science and Masters
of Science in Ocean Engineering from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology. She has additional graduate
work in Business Administration at the University of
Houston.
Ms. Street is a Registered Professional
Engineer, Texas License #41404.
Ms. Street serves on the Board of Trustees of
the Aerospace Corporation, Board of Trustees, MIT Museum
and the MIT Visiting Committee, Department of Materials
Science & Engineering (1982-1988, 1999-2001). She has
served on the National Research Council (NRC).
In addition, she serviced on the Standing Committee
for Chemical and Biological Defense (1993-1997), and
currently serves on the NRC Board on Energy and Environmental
Systems (1997-present), NRC Oversight Commission, Grand
Challenges in Environmental Sciences Study (1998-present),
and NRC Study Committee on Review of Alternate Technologies.
