Joseph
I. Bergmann
Joseph I. Bergmann, Director of Information Technology for The
Federal Market Group/Government Business Solutions, Washington,
D. C. based organizations providing professional training, research, publishing
and consulting services to government and industry in public contracts management,
program/project management and leadership. He is responsible for U.S. and
European information technology business development. Mr. Bergmann was formerly
Director of Government Relations at X/Open Company, Limited, and responsible
for developing and managing business with International Government Agencies
and their information technology suppliers.
One of Mr. Bergmann's major accomplishments at X/Open was
gaining the endorsement from major government and commercial organizations
through the use of X/Open's Open Systems specifications in the acquisition
of information technology in over six billion U.S. dollars of procurements.
Mr. Bergmann has more than twenty-four years
experience in both commercial and government sectors.
His information systems experience includes international
marketing, sales, contract management, new business development,
liaison with standards organizations, long range planning,
programming and budgeting, hardware and software acquisitions,
computer operations, systems analysis, configuration
management, and research and development.
Mr. Bergmann holds a bachelors degree from the
University of Nebraska, in Political Science, Mathematics,
and Computer Science. He has completed graduate studies
at Creighton University in International Relations, and
is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. He holds
Professional Certificates from both the Industrial College
of the Armed Forces and the Air Command and Staff College.
Mr. Bergmann is a member of Armed Forces Communications
and Electronics Association (AFCEA), Air Force Association
(AFA), Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEEE) Computer
Society, Association of Computer Machinery (ACM), National
Contract Management Association (NCMA), Federal Government
Information Processing Councils (FGIPC), Data Processing
Management Association (DPMA), British-American Business
Association, American Chamber of Commerce (United Kingdom),
and is recognized in Who's Who Worldwide.
